The Indian healthcare market is home to a large number of hospitals, a major number of which includes tertiary care hospitals that are being funded by the industry giants like some builders or powerful corporate groups. However, irrespective of the total number of these fully-equipped hospitals, a major section of the society still prefers going to smaller healthcare destinations. Since these small scale healthcare set ups do not have large budgets, they often go unnoticed by the new solution providers of the primary healthcare industry.Taking note of this, Healthcare Consulting Services (HCS), a Healthcare Advisory & Consulting firm was established in Mumbai. “We noticed that until and unless the problem was not big, people opted to go for smaller clinics. There exists a comprehensive gap between the administration of the corporate hospitals and these small budget set ups. This motivated us to help them by shaping their financial structure, bringing in some corporate governance, creating an SOP and a managing team between the promoters and the employees. This indeed required a lot of stream lining and that is where my idea of consulting started,” says Amit Sontakke, Managing Partner & Principal Consultant, Healthcare Consulting Services (HCS).

We are coming up with plans to enter the International market, starting with UAE. We also intend to manage 1000-10,000 beds in upcoming 5 to 10 years and to fulfill this we are seeking expansion across Mumbai, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Hyderabad and Delhi,” concludes Amit.
