Dairy Mate: Formulating their Own Equations of Success in the Indian Agriculture Consultancy Segment

CIO Vendor The Indian agriculture consultancy industry is an-often-overlooked market space and there is a huge gap between requirement and service. The lack of awareness about the latest trends and technological advancements happening at the global scale is adversely impacting the quality of services imparted in the Indian market. One consultancy firm that is aiming to be a flag bearer in the sector is Dairy Mate and their ability to come up with unique solutions has helped the company to build a positive reputation in the industry and create a niche in the market.

The company sees every day as a new opportunity to prove themselves and their industry expertise has helped them to understand how to provide the best solution for their clients. Dairy Mate also acknowledges the fact that the ‘one size fits all’ approach will not work in the industry and they strive to offer customized solutions that offer the best results for their clients.

Innovation and incorporating the latest technologies into your operation is crucial to evolve with the changing market landscape and when asked about the innovative operational approach followed by Dairy Mate, Dr. Nataraj. B. V who is the Founder of the company adds, “When it comes to innovation, we are totally disruptive, we had to talk to industry people to gain knowledge and I was able to grasp things faster related to animals and their protocols. Also, our work culture is very open and everyone is free to share their ideas and we also make sure that we are motivated to learn and improve on a consistent basis.
Luckily, we do not have competitors who do the end-to-end services in the dairy domain because it is hard to run the company on a profit if you are not committed to innovation and research like us. This coupled with the quality of our services has helped us to not just create but also maintain an impressive clientele that includes some big-name companies and apart from that, we support small and medium dairy farmers to run a successful business”.

When asked about the growth of the company and their future plans, Dr. Nataraj says, “Our initial days was more to understand the needs of farmers and after understanding that we started to develop content for the same with very big cash burn. We were able to evolve from selling milking machines to become a complete solution provider in the dairy domain. Our initiative- Tech enabled kiosks to help small and medium dairy farmers for yield enhancement and veterinary health care. We have also developed a plethora of content to educate farmers and to keep ourselves updated with the latest trends, we attend seminars and industry meets.

This helped us to become the member of Nasscom and to be a mentor in the startup hub. Going forward, apart from consultancy we want to be leaders in content and deliver assessing tools for farmers and also inspire farmers to learn Tech enabled kiosks which are operated with rural youth which can generate employment for up to 6000 rural youths. It can also impact women’s livelihood and impact the income of 1/3 rd of farmers in India. We are also aiming to have our presence on a pan India level from all the villages and to have a global presence which can provide world class content with latest technologies to empower farmers”.
