According to a Preply analysis, DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis is the smartest CEO in the world, ranking ahead of notable worldwide CEOs such as Meta's Mark Zuckerberg, Tesla and SpaceX's Elon Musk, and even DeepMind's parent company Alphabet's CEO Sundar Pichai. 

According to the study, "Hassabis, known for his dual expertise as an AI researcher and neuroscientist, has enriched his public discourses with a unique blend of knowledge."

Hassabis received the highest score of 87.33, followed by Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman, who received a score of 74.33, and Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren E Buffett, who received a score of 74. 

Notably, former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos (5th slot, score of 71) and Meta platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg (8th spot, score of 69.67) are judged wiser than the world's richest billionaire, Elon Musk, who is ranked 16th with a score of 64.33. 

The online tutoring company did an in-depth review of several CEOs' public appearances and scored them out of 100.

The CEOs' intelligence was rated based on five essential characteristics: language breadth, textual readability, critical thinking, judging the complexity of phrase structures, and the speaker's capacity to integrate their discourse with broader contexts.

According to the survey, intelligence is not the only determinant of success while heading a company. 

"Each leader on this list, regardless of their score, has demonstrated distinct leadership qualities and has made noteworthy contributions to their respective sectors," the report added.
