It was during this tenure when she sensed the various pain-points in terms of training team candidates with basic knowledge about pharmacology and Pharma/medicine at ground level. In several instances, companies were seen to recruit sales members and provide them with induction training programmes for about 3-4 weeks. Post these sessions few employees back out and few were not found fit, eventually incurring losses to the companies.

Inception of Pharmahood Consultants was to bridge the gap of Demand-Supply, whereby the company initially focused on recruitment alongside providing Training in Communication, Pharmacology and Anatomy to those who wanted to build a career in the Pharma industry. “Majority of the Pharma companies accepted us in no time, as this was a game changer in the market. We used to provide the basic understanding of the therapeutic segments along with prerequisites of Pharma Industry. All and all, optimizing the training cost and time for our clients,” asserts Ashika.

Like a blue streak, the pharma companies saw a huge potential and understood the credibility of the founder's experience in the field. There after, Pharmahood started serving senior mandates exclusively for clients. Referred candidates by Ashika and team saved HR counter parts’ time asserting repeated business from the same clients. From 2005 onwards, Pharmahood started providing recruitment services to other sectors like Manufacturing, Engineering, Chemicals, Real-Estate, BFSI, Power & Infra, and others.

When we started, challenges were finding and locating the candidate and there were only a few consultants like us who can give PAN India candidates. During 2003-2005, Job Portals were not available and consultants relied on their own database. Our skills of headhunting, mapping and training of team helped us bag accolades from clients.”
