Yotta Data Services, a venture of Hiranandani Group, has initiated operations for its Yotta G1 data center situated in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) in Gandhinagar. This state-of-the-art data center is designed to cater to the digital requirements of clients globally, whether they are within GIFT City or anywhere else in the world. Yotta affirms that the G1 data center is equipped with a fault-tolerant facility infrastructure, high-performance cloud computing and storage infrastructure, advanced physical and cyber security, robust connectivity, and sustainability measures.

The establishment of G1 represents a significant investment exceeding Rs 500 crore over five years, covering both critical non-IT and IT/Cloud/AI computing infrastructure. With a capacity of over 350 high-density racks and 2 MW power, the data center is scalable based on demand.

Darshan Hiranandani, Co-founder and Chairman of Yotta Data Services acknowledged Gujarat's proactive role, particularly GIFT City's contribution as a platform for global businesses to establish their presence in India. The G1 data center, strategically located within the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) zone, aligns with the government's vision by offering cutting-edge technologies to support business setup and scaling while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Yotta emphasizes the G1 data center's role as a potential "data embassy" for large global enterprises in the GIFT City IFSC zone. This implies that their stored data remains subject to the laws and regulations of their home country, allowing them to retain sovereignty over their data, even if stored in India. This setup facilitates business continuity in the event of major disruptions within their home borders. The data center's location also ensures adherence to IFSC regulations, providing distinct advantages like free foreign exchange convertibility, a liberalized regulatory environment, and business-friendly policies.

Sunil Gupta, Co-Founder, MD & CEO of Yotta Data Services, highlighted G1 as a pivotal milestone in delivering high-end data center, cloud, AI computing, storage, connectivity, and cybersecurity services on both a global and local scale in the Gujarat region. G1 joins Yotta's existing data center lineup, including two in Navi Mumbai and Greater Noida, forming part of hyper-scale campuses.
