Commuters from all walks of life have greeted India's first semi-high speed Regional Rail service, 'Namo Bharat,' with enthusiasm. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the train on 20 October in order to deliver a faster, safer, and more reliable urban transportation system. The country's railway sector has reached another milestone with its launch. The Level 3 ETCS makes its world debut on the 17-kilometer-long Priority Section of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS Corridor.

Alstom India designed the train at their engineering center in Hyderabad and produced it in Gujarat's Savli. Over the last two years, more than 300 Alstom India engineers and designers have invested thousands of hours and conducted hundreds of hours of testing to deliver the phase-I obligations to the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). 

What exactly is Level 3 ETCS?

ETCS is an abbreviation for European Train Control System. It attempts to improve safety, interoperability, wait time reduction, and efficiency. In the future, the ETCS will be equipped with Automatic Train Operation (ATO) over Long Term Evolution (LTE) to improve network speed and capacity.
