Vodafone Idea (VIL) chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla said at the IMC event that the company aims to make major investments in 5G network rollout and 4G coverage in the next quarters. Birla stated "In the coming quarters, Vodafone Idea will launch significant investments to build 5G networks and expand 4G coverage across the country.

The company is determined to realize the government's vision of establishing a robust supply chain in critical and emerging areas, such as Open RAN (Radio Access Network)." His remark comes at a time when VIL is struggling financially and losing subscribers. Meanwhile, rivals Jio and Bharti Airtel are fortifying their positions in the fiercely competitive telecom sector by introducing 5G services.

In his speech at IMC, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, stated that Prime Minister Modi's call to develop India as a global leader in 5G technology has sparked a sense of energy and enthusiasm throughout the country.

"We at Jio unleashed the fastest 5G rollout ever seen anywhere in the world." Jio has installed over 10 lakh 5G cells across all 22 circles of India, deploying a 5G cell every 10 seconds. "I am humbled to share that Jio alone has contributed to 85% of the country's overall 5G capacity," Akash Ambani said during the seventh edition of IMC.
