Google continues to enhance its AI features, expanding beyond the Galaxy S24 series to bring the Circle to Search feature to Pixel 8 and 8 Pro phones starting January 31. This new feature allows users to search for items in photos by circling, highlighting, scribbling, or tapping on them, streamlining the search process without switching apps.

In a blog post, Google highlighted the convenience of Circle to Search, enabling users to explore their curiosity with a simple gesture. This feature joins Google's array of AI-driven functionalities, such as voice-based questions, song identification through humming, and visual searches using Lens.

The Pixel 8 Pro introduces another innovative feature, leveraging its built-in thermometer to measure body temperature. Initially introduced with the Pixel 8 series, this "medical-grade" temperature sensor has received FDA approval. Positioned near the camera, it uses infrared radiation to measure temperatures ranging from -4°F (-20°C) to 392°F (200°C). Users can sync temperature readings with their Fitbit accounts for comprehensive health monitoring.

Notably, Google extends these enhancements to its older Pixel phones. The Pixel 6 series and above will soon receive "Magic Compose," an AI-driven feature that allows users to rewrite drafted messages in different styles. While Pixel 8 Pro performs this on-device, other Pixel phones will use cloud processing to refine messages professionally or concisely.

Google also rebrands and introduces Quick Share, the equivalent of Nearby Share on Samsung phones, facilitating content sharing between nearby devices running Android, ChromeOS, or Windows.

Expanding its AI influence, Google introduces new features for its Chrome Browser. These experimental updates include:

Tab Organizer: Automatically groups similar tabs and suggests names and emojis, enhancing tab management.

Chrome AI Themes: Generates custom themes based on chosen subjects, moods, visual styles, and colors for personalized browsing experiences.

Help Me Write: Assists in content creation based on a few typed words, enhancing online writing efficiency.

These Chrome updates aim to make web browsing more convenient, personalized, and creative. They are currently available on Chrome for Macs and Windows PCs in the U.S., with certain restrictions for enterprise and educational accounts. Google's continuous efforts in integrating AI across its product line showcase its commitment to providing innovative and user-friendly experiences.
