Apple Vision Pro 2 is said to Offer More Advanced and Brighter Screens

As per the rumors and leaks, Apple might go for a follow-up to the mixed reality headset that has already begun. According to market research firm Omdia (via The Elec and MacRumors), the Apple Vision Pro 2 will have brighter and more efficient screens than the current model. They will also allegedly use more advanced micro-OLED technology.

This is due to a move to a standard known as RGB OLEDoS, which produces light and color directly from its RGB sub-pixels. A color filter is no longer required, which improves the visual user experience. Samsung is likely to build the requisite panels, but you'll have some time to save up beforehand - the Apple Vision Pro 2 is slated to appear in 2027, which is later than some previous rumors.

The Apple Vision Pro was not yet made available to consumers, but it was unveiled in June. Pricing will begin at a pricey $3,499 - roughly £2,755 or AU$5,145 - however international pricing has yet to be established.

TechRadar is one of a few tech news sources that has had the opportunity to test the Apple Vision Pro ahead of its release, and we've been particularly pleased by the headset's ability to display 3D spatial video.

It can also display 2D films and other digital elements on virtual screens and can be used for video conferencing. It could be a tremendous tool for both productivity and escapism, but we'll have to wait and see.

There are already signs of how the device might be sold in stores since Apple confirmed its existence, and the latest rumors claim it'll be available for purchase by the beginning of February. Following that, it should be one of the hottest IT concerns in 2024.
