An update To Musk's X Algorithm: Prioritizing The Display Of Pinned Posts

By Consultants Review Team Thursday, 29 February 2024

Elon Musk said on Thursday that a "change is coming" to the recommendation algorithm of his company X, which was once known as Twitter. The change would allow a user's post to be pinned to their profile and seen by all of their followers.

Musk stated on the social network that this only applies to one pinned post every forty-eight hours to stop system manipulation. Musk's remark, which comes about a week after he originally said that such a move was in the works, is vague as to when exactly the change would be made, including if the algorithm is being adjusted or will be modified soon.

A post that you pin will now be placed immediately to your highlights section. We're going to change the algorithm soon so that your followers see pinned content first. According to what he said on the site on February 21, this will only be effective once per day to stop system gaming.

As the name suggests, this type of post is the first thing that appears when someone visits someone's profile since it is "pinned" to the top. That person may have posted it alone, in response, or as a repost.

To pin a post, open the app and tap your profile symbol in the upper left. Tap 'Profile' and swipe to the post you wish to be pinned. Tap 'More' in the top-right corner of the post, then click 'Pin to Profile' and 'Pin' in the pop-up message.
