Kukreja, the firm witnessed a substantial upsurge between 1969 in 1982 and added numerous advanced services across HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Detection & Fire Fighting disciplines. Doing a large number of projects in the Middle East in 1982, the V.S. Kukreja and Associates firm forged its territory with silver linings of success before molding its identity into V.S. Kukreja and Associates Pvt. Ltd. (VSKAPL). Talking about his journey that led to the establishment of such an innovative and exemplary firm across the MEP Consultancy domain, V.S. Kukreja avers, "After completing my graduation in Electrical Engineering in the year 1967, I realized that traditional desk jobs or Govt. Jobs were not my cup of tea.
Pondering over what to do, I Incidentally met one of the leading Architects of that time and told him about my inclination towards lighting and electrical design. All of a sudden, he asked me whether I would be keen on designing the complete Electrical system for the expansion of a renowned College in Delhi. As soon as I agreed, I was provided all the drawings and about 10 days time to complete the job. Without the assistance of Computers & Calculators, I finished the job in 4 days. Not only he was pleasantly surprised but also handed me the cheque of an amount which was very much beyond my expectations. After an in detailed discussion, he advised me to start the consultancy work. That is how the V.S. Kukreja and Associates was started in November, 1969."
After commencing its journey in 1969, the firm got its first largest breakthrough with the project of complete Electrification of Pragati Maidan, for 3rdIndia International Trade Fair properly known as ASIA' 72 in 1972. Following this, there was no shortage of work and VS-KAPL got involved with all types of projects, be it the First Multi-storied Housing project in the NDMC area, Large Multi-storied office complexes, large numbers of Hotels, Auditoriums, Schools, Colleges, Industries and many more. Apart from offering complete engineering services starting from taking the client requirements, writing Design Brief Report (DBR) based on various requirement, various codes and various departments restrictions, VSKAPL also ensures Preparation of Drawings, Preparing BOQ, Preparing Rate Analysis, Writing Specifications, Advising on Finalizing the contractor and routine Supervision of the work.
Active across various countries of the globe including Dubai Sharjah, Quwait, Baghdad, Rass ellKhema, Oman, and Sudan, the major projects handled by VSKAPL include Chennai Airport, Passenger Terminal Building at Dera Baba Nanak, Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, Punjab, Indian International Trade fair 1972, Raipur Airport, Museum in Rashtrapati Estate, Headquarter building for MEA, Indian Embassy in Dhaka Bangladesh, along with a very large no of Housing, Commercial, Township, Hotels, Institutions, Hospitals and more.
