Zepto, a quick commerce company, is getting ready to relocate its headquarters from Mumbai to Bengaluru. The business is relocating from Powai, Mumbai, to Sarjapur, Bengaluru. "While the company has been flexible for now, we have all been mandated to relocate to Bengaluru by the end of November or early December," a Zepto employee told the site.
According to a person with knowledge of the situation, Zepto would pay for the relocation costs of any staff who choose to relocate to Bengaluru. "The relocation cost will be offset because Zepto is estimated to save around ₹40-50 lakh in rent per month because of its move from Mumbai to Bengaluru," the business says. The total procedure is estimated to cost the company between ₹3 and 4 crore as a one-time charge.
The three-year-old company now has engineering and product teams in Bengaluru and business verticals in Mumbai. Zepto will relocate all 1,700–1,800 of its staff members to Bengaluru, where it currently has an office. Zepto has properties ranging from 80,000 to 90,000 square feet in Mumbai and 30,000 to 40,000 square feet in Bengaluru. According to the newspaper, it would now vacate both of these properties and relocate to a bigger 1.5 lakh square foot site in Bengaluru.
According to the source, Zepto is also close to finalizing the purchase of a property of similar magnitude in the Bellandur or Sarjapur areas, which are home to a number of major international corporations and startups. Swiggy and Flipkart, Zepto's competitors, also have operations in the same neighborhood.
According to the report, "Of the total 1,000 employees in Mumbai, around 90 percent are already willing to move, and the rest are in talks to relocate." "If everything goes as planned, only 5-7 percent of the 1,000 will be unable to relocate to Bengaluru."
