Just as the company seeks to expand in South Asia, Foxconn Technology Group is losing a longstanding leader in India. According to those acquainted with the situation, Josh Foulger, the country leader of Foxconn's Bharat FIH division, is leaving the firm after nine years. They stated, requesting anonymity because the situation is personal, that his last day will be this month. His plans were not immediately apparent.

With three decades of experience in the electronics sector, Foulger has assisted Xiaomi Corp. and other clients of Taiwanese contract maker Foxconn in their expansion into India. To construct Xiaomi devices in nearby Foxconn plants, he collaborated closely with Xiaomi's former India CEO Manu Jain. This helped the Chinese company become a major player in the rapidly expanding Indian market.

However, Bharat FIH gradually lost market share to Xiaomi as the Chinese company looked for more regional partners. As the nation's government pushed manufacturers to collaborate more with Indian suppliers, Xiaomi added local competitor Dixon Technologies India Ltd. as a smartphone assembler last year.
