Walt Disney will begin breaking out its sports programming income in the fourth quarter. The company's financial results will be divided into two categories: entertainment and sports.

The move follows a company restructure announced earlier this year, according to the media company on Wednesday.

ESPN and ESPN, Star-branded sports networks in India, and fees received from licencing sports material would be included in sports. The entertainment section, on the other hand, will contain its linear networks, streaming services, and money gained from licencing films and television programmes.

The company also released historic data for the first nine months through July 1, 2023, as well as fiscal years 2022 and 2021, based on the new segment classification.

The move comes as Disney looks for strategic partners for its ESPN sports network. According to Reuters, it is also considering selling some of its assets in India. In February, the company announced a restructure that involved the creation of three internal entities as well as a 4% reduction in the company's staff.
