The Volkswagen Group China, one of the biggest automakers in the world, and XPeng Inc., a well-known smart electric vehicle company in China, are thrilled to announce that they have inked a memorandum of understanding ("MOU") for strategic cooperation on ultra-fast charging networks in China.
The MOU states that XPENG and Volkswagen Group China would work together to establish one of China's biggest networks of ultra-fast charging stations. Through this strategic cooperation, consumers of XPENG and Volkswagen Group China will have access to more than 20,000 charging stations in 420 Chinese cities that are jointly administered by both automakers.
Customers from both sides will have the opportunity to enjoy remarkable fast charging across China by combining the technological advantages of high-power liquid-cooled super-fast charging with the vast and complementary networks of both parties.
In order to speed up the growth of the charging network and improve operational efficiency, the cooperation will also possibly involve plans to build co-branded ultra-fast charging stations in China.
In the long-standing collaboration between XPENG and Volkswagen Group, this strategic relationship marks the fourth significant milestone. Both parties plan to look into further chances for strategic cooperation, strengthening technology alliances, and strengthening the advantageous strategic partnership.
