To revolutionize Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) development, Tata Elxsi will work with global chipmaker Qualcomm to create cutting-edge virtual models for Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions.
The project's main goal is to spur innovation in the passenger, commercial, and off-highway vehicle segments by utilizing virtual electronic control unit (ECU) platforms driven by Snapdragon virtual system-on-chips (VSoCs). This partnership will be on display at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
Tata Elxsi hopes to reduce the reliance on hardware availability by incorporating virtualized solutions, which would expedite the development and validation of SDVs. It is anticipated that this strategy will quicken product development lifecycles, guaranteeing a quicker time to market for cutting-edge automotive solutions.
At CES 2025, Tata Elxsi will showcase its AVENIR SDV suite, which is integrated with the Snapdragon Ride Flex SoC from Qualcomm Technologies. Real-world applications, such as mixed-critical workloads for infotainment systems and sophisticated driver assistance systems, will be highlighted in the presentation. The goal of these developments is to give Tier-1 suppliers and automakers scalable, high-performing tools for creating next-generation SDVs.
"Tata Elxsi's leadership and investments in SDV technologies and the future of cloud-native automotive software development are reflected in our planned collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies. Automakers may actualize the next generation of SDVs with a high-performance, scalable solution from Tata Elxsi's AVENIR suite with Snapdragon Digital Chassis technologies. This unique mix of world-class software and system knowledge, virtualized models, and ready-to-use SDV software provides OEMs with a compelling and future-ready path to SDVs and next-generation mobility," stated Shaju S, Vice President & Head of Tata Elxsi's Transportation Business Unit.
