Young India feels that people must maintain a work-life balance and not devote all of their time to work. This contradicts recent remarks by Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy. To become a developed nation, he believes India should have a 70-hour work week. Vinod Khosla, co-founder of Sun Microsystems, agreed with Murthy.

One office worker told Tech Today that a 70-hour workweek is sure to interfere with your personal life and health, which is not acceptable. He went on to say, "What Narayana Murthy has stated is completely impractical if we want to maintain a healthy lifestyle." Another individual noted that our life should not center on work, and that it is critical to give yourself enough time to develop your personality and work on your strengths and flaws. Another corporate employee claimed that a 70-hour work week is only achievable in hypothetical scenarios since we need to take time away from work to be with our families and ourselves.

One office worker replied that he believes a 70-hour work week is feasible at the start of a career. He went on to say, "70 hours for someone who is not married and is young makes sense." He did, however, explain that it should not be imposed, but rather optional. Several others also told us that 8-9 hours a day with a two-day week is sufficient for practically all industries.

According to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the average work week in India is 47.7 hours. This is much more than the US weekly average of 36.4 hours

Our poll also found that many of them chose a hybrid work paradigm, which began during the pandemic. They indicated that this work arrangement allows them to be more productive because it allows them to save time on commutes, spend more time with their families, and even conduct team-building activities so that the work does not suffer.
