Meets with PM Narendra Modi, Bill Gates Says, Can Take Lessons

Co-founder of Microsoft Bill Gates met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday in New Delhi.  According to Gates, he spoke with the Prime Minister on AI, women-led growth, innovative agriculture, health, and climate adaptation—as well as sharing India's lessons with the rest of the globe.

"It is always inspiring to meet with @narendramodi and there was a lot to discuss," said Gates in a post on X. We discussed DPI, women-led development, AI for the public good, innovation in agriculture, health, and climate adaption, and how the world can learn from India, he said.

The prime minister tweeted that the discussion was "wonderful" and stated, "It's always a pleasure to discuss sectors which will empower millions of people worldwide and make our planet better."

Earlier on Thursday, Gates also had a meeting with the minister of external affairs, S Jaishankar.

Gates traveled to Odisha on Tuesday night and met with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday. He visited a slum in Bhubaneswar with state government leaders and asked about the well-being of the people living there. The benefactor conversed with women's self-help groups (SHGs) around the state.

Reports state that Bill Gates will also be present for the pre-wedding celebrations in Jamanagar, Gujarat, for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
