Jubilant Foods Inks MoU with Coca-Cola for Beverages and Food Items

By Consultants Review Team Friday, 27 December 2024

The Indian quick-service restaurant operator Jubilant Food Ltd (JFL) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Coca-Cola to purchase and promote sparkling beverages and other products. The business revealed the development on Thursday.

The agreement is a significant move for JFL, which has had a beverage service collaboration with PepsiCo since 2018 throughout its restaurant businesses, including Domino's Pizza. The decision comes on the heels of parent firm Jubilant Bhartia Group's recent acquisition of a 40% share in Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Coca-Cola's Indian bottling subsidiary, for almost Rs 10,000 crore.

According to the regulatory filing, the MoU defines the primary terms and conditions for JFL to purchase a portfolio of sparkling beverages and other products from Coca-Cola's authorized bottlers, as well as execute marketing operations for the beverage company.

JFL has a large network of 3,130 stores in six markets: India, Turkey, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. In addition to its iconic Domino's Pizza business, the corporation owns franchise rights for global brands Popeyes and Dunkin' Donuts. It has also created its own brands, such as Hong's Kitchen, an Indo-Chinese quick-service restaurant in India, and COFFY, a cafe in Turkey.
