Jaguar Land Rover said that it has started a program in India to collaborate closely with startups in order to create the next generation of goods and services that would contribute to the company's future customer experiences.
Building on the success of its previous efforts in the US, UK, Israel, and Brazil, the premier brand owned by Tata Motors has opened the Open Innovation Hub in Bengaluru.
According to a statement from Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), the India hub would concentrate on deep tech, which includes artificial intelligence, big data and analytics, the internet of things, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), sensors, and devices.
"India is the perfect place for the newest innovation hub because of its rapidly expanding startup sector, JLR's established presence, and its close ties to the Tata Group," stated Igor Murakami, JLR's Innovation Director.
"The initiative is bringing the automaker into contact with the next generation of talent and technologies through global collaborations," he continued.
Additionally, industry, government, academia, and other stakeholders will be brought together by the innovation hub, according to JLR.
According to the statement, they will talk about and create industry-leading solutions for JLR, including supplying more sophisticated ADAS, finding the best sites for charging infrastructure, and optimizing batteries for electric powertrains.
Since the commencement of JLR's Open Innovation Programme in April 2022, this new hub is the fifth to open. Over 2,500 startups worldwide have been contacted by the initiative, leading to 33 official partnerships thus far.
