The Gujarat government and Jabil, a prominent EMS business, inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday to establish an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) unit in the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was present when Gujarat's Science and Technology Department and Jabil signed the Memorandum of Understanding, according to an official statement.
A Rs 1,000 crore investment in the DSIR is outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed by the Gujarat Science and Technology Department and Jabil, a world leader in engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain solutions.
According to the statement, the new Jabil unit would concentrate on industries such capital goods, networking, automotive, and other related fields.
According to the company, Jabil's new plant is anticipated to start operations in Dholera by 2027 and provide over 5,000 job possibilities.
It further stated that the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Manish Gurvan, Mission Director of the Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM), and B N Shukla, Director of Jabil Operations.
Jabil has been in business for more than 50 years and has more than 100 sites worldwide.
According to the organization, it delivers scalable, customized solutions by fusing local knowledge with its broad worldwide reach.
