Simple Energy, an Indian electric vehicle start-up, has released the Dot One, its second electric two-wheeler. The business says that this scooter has the longest range in its category, with a range of up to 151 kilometers on a single charge.

Customers in Bengaluru who pre-ordered the Simple One received an introductory price of Rs 99,999 for the Dot One. This is a limited-time promotion that will only be available while supplies last. The new customer pricing will be published in January 2024, and it will be slightly more than the existing price.

Simple Energy claims that the Dot One is entirely manufactured in India. With the Simple One platform, the company intends to target first-time electric scooter buyers. It is only available in one model with a fixed battery. The scooter comes in four different colors: Namma Red, Brazen Black, Grace White, and Azure Blue. It will also be available in LightX and BrazenX colors for individuals who prefer more color options. The scooter includes a 750W charger. Deliveries will begin in Bangalore and subsequently spread to other cities.

The manufacturer says that the Dot One is the quickest scooter in its class, moving from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.77 seconds. It sports a 3.7 kWh battery and an 8.5 kW electric motor, producing 72 Nm of peak torque. It is equipped with CBS safety measures and disc brakes. Under the seat of the scooter is a 35-liter storage compartment. It also has a touchscreen instrument cluster with an app for linked features.
