Google Cloud and Cognizant (NASDAQ: CTSH) today announced a growth in their collaboration to improve the software delivery lifecycle and boost developer productivity.
In order to utilize Gemini for Google Cloud, Cognizant will do two things: first, it will teach its colleagues how to use Gemini to aid with software development; and second, it will incorporate Gemini's sophisticated features into its internal processes and platforms. using the use of AI-powered tools, Cognizant's engineers will be able to write, test, and publish code more quickly and efficiently using Gemini for Google Cloud, increasing the dependability and financial efficiency of developing and maintaining client applications.
Findings from a recent Cognizant and Oxford Economics research, New Work, New World, which showed generative AI may pump up to $1 trillion into the U.S. economy by 2032, highlight the potential effect of higher development productivity. Through their partnership, Gemini will be used by Cognizant and Google Cloud to provide a wide range of advantages to enterprise clients in a variety of industries. These benefits will include assisting clients in rapidly developing applications, thoroughly testing code, and promptly resolving issues to maximize performance throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
According to Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S., "one of the jobs most likely to benefit from the way generative AI is redefining the anatomy of work" is software development. Because we think generative AI has the potential to be a very powerful tool for maximizing human potential, Cognizant has committed to spending $1 billion in this field over the course of three years. A key component of our commitment to this goal is our collaboration with Google Cloud.
In keeping with its Synapse effort, which aims to upskill one million people worldwide by 2026, Cognizant will spend over the course of the following 12 months to enable over 70,000 colleagues across various Cognizant functions to use Google Cloud's artificial intelligence solutions. Cognizant also plans to include Gemini into its line of automated platforms and accelerators, starting with the developer-focused Cognizant FlowsourceTM️ platform that was just unveiled.
According to Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, "generative AI has the potential to greatly improve every stage of the software delivery lifecycle, helping developers quickly generate code, troubleshoot issues, and automate processes." Through employee training and access to Gemini for Google Cloud, Cognizant is able to accelerate the quality and pace of software development projects for its joint clients.
