Following DeepSeek's shockwave, China has made headlines again with the launch of ManusAI, an advanced AI agent developed by Chinese startup Monica. This new AI system is poised to challenge the dominance of American AI powerhouses such as OpenAI and Google.

ManusAI, which debuted on March 6, 2025, is billed as the world's first fully autonomous AI agent. Unlike traditional AI models, which require specific instructions, ManusAI can analyze, plan, and execute complex tasks independently across multiple domains. ManusAI's capabilities extend beyond those of existing AI assistants, from planning a trip to Japan to conducting in-depth stock analysis.

On the GAIA benchmark, which assesses general AI assistants' ability to solve real-world problems, ManusAI achieved new state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance across all three difficulty levels. The AI agent is said to outperform OpenAI and previous leading models, with accuracy rates of 86.5%, 70.1%, and 57.7% at Levels 1, 2, and 3, respectively.
