Amazon Web Services (AWS) India launched the 'AI Ready' project on November 23rd, with the goal of upskilling 2 million individuals by 2025 by offering eight new, free AI and generative AI courses. These courses, which vary from fundamental to advanced, are designed for business leaders and engineers and are matched with their in-demand roles, as tech and IT firms increasingly focus on AI skills-based hiring.

AWS also launched a $12 million AWS Generative AI Scholarship, in collaboration with Udacity, to train over 50,000 high school and university students from marginalized and underrepresented communities throughout the world. Introduction to Amazon CodeWhisperer, Foundations of Prompt Engineering, Low-Code Machine Learning on AWS, Building Language Models on AWS, Amazon Transcribe - Getting Started, and Building Generative AI Applications Using Amazon Bedrock are just a few of the courses available.

According to a recent AWS survey, over 93 percent of enterprises will deploy AI solutions across their organization within the next five years. As a result, businesses expect their employees to earn up to 47% more if they upskill in AI.

"The goal of AI Ready is to help level the playing field of AI education, programs supported by the new initiatives we're launching today," Swami Sivasubramanian, vice president of Data and AI at AWS, stated. We will also expand our existing free AI training programs and courses in order to eliminate cost as a barrier to attaining these vital skills." Previously, AWS pledged to invest hundreds of millions of dollars to deliver free cloud computing skills training to 29 million people by 2025, with the firm claiming that it had already trained more than 21 million people.
