Nxtra, a data center company owned by Bharti Airtel, announced on Wednesday that it would invest Rs 5,000 crore in doubling its capacity to almost 400 megawatts over the next three years.
By 2025, the corporation had previously aimed to reach a capacity of about 400 megawatts.
According to Nxtra, it is the first data center in India to use AI to create digital facilities that are designed to support smart capabilities like predictive maintenance, improved energy and operational efficiency, simplified automation of processes, and optimized use of capital expenditures.
The company will invest "Rs 5,000 crore over the next three years to double the Nxtra capacity to around 400 megawatt," according to Nxtra CEO Ashish Arora.
According to him, Nxtra has implemented Ecolibrium's AI-powered SmartSense platform in its Chennai data center and plans to expand its capabilities throughout all of its primary data centers.
Through the deployment, Nxtra hopes to reduce non-IT power consumption by 10% by detecting deviations and energy loss in each piece of equipment early on and increase asset life by 10% by using real-time performance analytics to spot early signs of deterioration and offer remedial recommendations.
Through AI-driven Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) algorithms and preventative maintenance, the company anticipates a 15% improvement in equipment performance.
