Air India Begins Implementing its New Brand Identity

By Consultants Review Team Tuesday, 19 December 2023

Air India stated on Tuesday that it has begun rolling out its recently released global brand identity across guest touchpoints, commencing with a full changeover across digital and internet channels and airport rebranding in Delhi and Mumbai. It unveiled its new brand identity in August of this year. The new style incorporates Air India's new brand colors2, which include Air India red, aubergine, rose gold, and gold accents.

The Tata Group-owned airline announced that visitors would begin to notice the new branding at multiple touchpoints, including check-in desks, boarding gates, lounges, and freshly designed boarding cards, beginning with Delhi and Mumbai airports. "The rollout will progressively extend to other airports across Air India's growing global network in the coming weeks," the company stated.

Air India has also updated its website and introduced a new mobile app. It has updated its social media sites to suit the new brand identity. "The network-wide transition to our new global brand identity is a watershed moment for Air India," said Campbell Wilson, Air India's chief executive officer and managing director.

"We are confident that the modern, world-class look of Air India will appeal to our guests globally and serve as a strong reminder of all the remarkable changes that have come or are to come to their Air India experience."

The new Air India livery will be seen on the A350 fleet, as well as other forthcoming aircraft. "The in-flight rollout of the new global brand identity is linked to the airline's soon-to-be-inducted Airbus A350 fleet as well as subsequent refurbishment of cabin products over the next few months," according to the business.

Air India signed $70 billion in orders with Airbus and Boeing earlier this year. The first Airbus A350 aircraft will arrive this month. By mid-2024, a $400 million initiative to rehabilitate 43 of Air India's older widebody aircraft will commence. It will feature the installation of brand-new seats in each cabin, as well as new in-flight entertainment systems and Wi-Fi internet connectivity.

Manish Malhotra created new outfits for Air India's cabin and cockpit workers last week. The new uniforms will be phased in over the next few months, beginning with the arrival of Air India's first Airbus A350. "The airline will also soon reveal new uniforms for ground staff, engineers, and security personnel, designed by Manish Malhotra," according to the statement.
