India, July 27, 2015 – CA Technologies (NASDAQ:CA) today announced that Ayman Sayed has been named Chief Product Officer, effective August 10, 2015.  Sayed will be based in Santa Clara, Calif., and report directly to Chief Executive Officer Mike Gregoire.

“Ayman is an accomplished technology executive with a big vision who has built world class software development organizations and operated globally at scale,” said Gregoire. “By focusing on product direction and excellence, Ayman will help CA build a differentiated product portfolio meant to help CA’s customers solve their most difficult business problems in the Application Economy.  I am pleased to welcome him on board.”

Sayed served as Senior Vice President of the Network Operating Systems Technology Group at Cisco, where he oversaw 2,500 engineers and led the development of the network operating software on which nearly every Cisco networking product runs.  He helped Cisco pioneer the programmable networks arena and drove innovation broadly across networking software, which enabled the evolution of the intelligent network to support application awareness and the Internet of Things.   He also led a Cisco wide engineering transformation to Agile software development methodology.

Sayed joined Cisco in 1999 and held leadership roles across several businesses including Core Routing, Edge Routing, Enterprise Access Switching, and most recently Mobility Virtualization.  He drove multi-billion dollar business growth through product innovation and new product introductions.  While in charge of the Core Routing Business Unit Engineering team, he led the software development for the Cisco Carrier Routing System (CRS-1), a platform that introduced several industry firsts in terms of scale and availability.  He also served as the Vice President of Engineering for the Unified Access Business Unit.  In that role, he led the engineering teams for the Cisco Catalyst access switching platforms.

Sayed has more than 25 years of experience in managing high-performance software organizations. Before joining Cisco, he was Director of Engineering at Plaintree Systems, where he led the development and engineering teams that created their Ethernet switching product line.

Sayed holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Cairo University.

“I am very excited to be joining CA with its rich history and strong tradition of software excellence," Sayed said. "I intend to partner with CA's superb engineers to drive innovation and deliver great, industry-leading solutions for business transformation in the application economy.”
